About StudentFlow
What is StudentFlow?
StudentFlow is a free journey planner for people going abroad from India. It started with students heading to the UK, Australia, Canada or Germany, and it also plans moves for newcomers, work trips and relocations, family visits and holidays. You tell us where you are headed, and we build a personal to-do list that runs from first step to arrival: visa, insurance, housing, flights, eSIM, money and arrival tasks, with deadlines, a private document vault and links to official sources.
Is StudentFlow free?
Yes, planning your journey is free. If you choose to book an optional service through StudentFlow, such as an eSIM or insurance from a partner, the provider may pay us a commission. You see the price before you pay.
Do you give visa or immigration advice?
No. StudentFlow is not a law firm, an immigration adviser or a government body. We explain each route in plain English and link to the official source for every regulated step. For advice about your own case, speak to your university or a regulated adviser.
Can StudentFlow guarantee my admission or visa?
No. Universities decide admission and governments decide visas. Be careful with anyone who promises a guaranteed visa or admission.
Which countries does StudentFlow cover?
StudentFlow covers the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Germany, with a planner for each audience. We only add a country to the study, newcomer, work and family planners when we can link each regulated step to an official source. Travellers on a short trip or holiday can plan a trip to any country: curated guides for those four, and a general checklist that links the official pages for every other country.
Do I need an offer letter before I start?
No. You can start while you are still shortlisting or waiting for results. Tell us where you are with admission and your list updates as things change.
How is StudentFlow different from an education consultant?
A consultant gives personal advice and often handles applications. StudentFlow organises your tasks, deadlines and documents and points you to official sources. They work well together, and consultants can use StudentFlow to manage their own students.
Visas, rules and timing
What is the difference between a CAS, a CoE and a Letter of Acceptance?
They are the admission confirmations each country uses in visa applications. The UK uses a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), Australia uses a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), and Canada uses a Letter of Acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution. In Germany the equivalent is the university admission letter (Zulassung). Your university issues it after you accept an offer and meet its conditions.
How early should I start planning?
As early as you can, ideally while you are shortlisting. Some steps, such as documents, proof of funds, appointments and, for Germany, the APS certificate, take time. Each official visa page also states how early you may apply.
How much money do I need to show for a student visa?
It depends on the country, the course and sometimes the city, and the rules change. We do not quote figures. Each official page lists the current amount, and our proof of funds guide shows how to prepare.
How long does a student visa take?
Processing times differ by country and time of year, and they change. The official pages publish current guidance. Leave buffer time and avoid booking non-refundable travel before your visa is approved.
Where does the visa information on StudentFlow come from?
From official government and university sources. Every regulated guide shows the official link and the date it was last verified. If you spot something out of date, please tell us through the contact page.
Money, insurance and services
Do I need health insurance to study abroad?
Most destinations have a health requirement, but it works differently in each. The UK charges an Immigration Health Surcharge with the visa application, Australia requires Overseas Student Health Cover, Canada depends on the province and institution, and Germany requires statutory or private health insurance for enrolment and the visa.
How do I send tuition money from India?
Indian residents normally send education payments through an authorised dealer bank or another authorised provider under Reserve Bank of India rules. Limits and tax treatment change, so ask your bank and check official pages. Always confirm payment details on the university’s official site.
Which services can I book through StudentFlow?
The services page lists what is available now: eSIM, insurance, accommodation, flights, forex and airport transfers are the categories we work on, and availability depends on our partners.
Do I have to buy services from StudentFlow?
No. Everything on your journey list works without buying anything. Services are optional shortcuts for the steps where you want help.
Your data and privacy
How do you protect my documents?
Documents you upload are stored privately and are not reachable through public links. They are visible to you, to the consultant you chose to share with (if any), and to StudentFlow admins. The privacy policy explains the details.
Do you share or sell my personal data?
We do not sell personal data. We share only what is needed to deliver a service you choose, for example your name and email with a provider when you book. The privacy policy lists the categories of third parties.
What does India’s DPDP Act mean for me?
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you rights over your personal data, including to withdraw consent and to ask for access, correction and erasure. Our privacy policy explains how we handle consent and your rights. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian needs to give consent.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Open Profile and choose Delete my account: you confirm with your password, we wait a few days in case you change your mind, then we erase your plan, documents, messages and chats and remove your name and contact details. You can also ask through the contact page. We may need to keep some records, such as payment records, where the law requires it, without your personal details.
Consultants and support
I am an education consultant. Can I use StudentFlow?
Yes. Consultants can manage their students’ journeys, tasks, documents and messages from one dashboard. See the consultants page and get in touch.
